The Gospel

Have You Thought About This?

Take a look around—God’s handiwork is everywhere.  From the towering oak trees to the smallest honeybee, from the vast skies to the detail of every fingerprint, His creation is undeniable.

When’s the last time you made a mountain, a kangaroo, or even the clouds? Nothing around you is an accident. The Bible tells us:

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” – Psalm 19:1
“God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” – Romans 1:20

Now that we recognize God created life, let’s talk about the next reality—death.

Why Do We Die?

God’s Word says, “The wages of sin is death.” – Romans 6:23

Have you ever sinned? Would you call yourself a good person?

Be honest…

  • Have you ever told a lie? (Exodus 20:16)
  • Have you ever stolen anything? (Exodus 20:15)
  • Have you ever lusted after someone? (Matthew 5:28)
  • Have you ever used the Lord’s name in vain? (Exodus 20:7)

If you’re like me and have answered “yes” to even one of these, you’ve sinned against a holy and perfect God. I used to think, “Well, I’m a good person—I haven’t done anything that bad.” But the truth is, none of us are truly good compared to God’s perfect standard.

“There is no one good but God.” – Mark 10:18

God Is Just—Sin Must Be Punished

Think of a courtroom: if someone committed a crime, even if they apologized and promised to do better, a good judge would still uphold justice and give the deserved punishment.

God, in His justice, cannot overlook sin—and that punishment is eternal separation from Him (Hell).

This is the bad news.

But Here’s the Good News!

God made a way for us. He sent His Son, Jesus, to live a perfect, sinless life and take the punishment we deserve. He sacrificed Himself on the cross, dying in our place.

Before He took His last breath, Jesus declared, “It is finished.” – John 19:30
Meaning: The debt has been paid.

This is why Jesus said:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” – John 14:6

Without Jesus' sacrifice, we could never enter Heaven on our own. The law (the Ten Commandments) reveals our need for salvation, and Jesus offers eternal life to those who believe in Him.

So, What Do I Do Now?

Repent – This means to change your mind, turning away from sin and trusting in what Jesus has done. No amount of “goodness” can save us. Only His grace can.

Believe in Him – Not just believe He exists, but place your full trust in Him alone. Even the demons believe He’s real—but they don’t follow Him.

Here’s an analogy that helped me:
If you were jumping out of an airplane, would you flap your arms to try and save yourself? No! You’d wear a parachute because it’s your only way to safety. Jesus IS that parachute. Without Him, trying to rely on your own goodness is just like flapping your arms—it won’t save you.

Are You Ready to Follow Jesus?

If this is all making sense, stop everything and surrender to God. Pray to Him. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you.

When you truly give your life to Jesus, you will be born again—your desires will change. You’ll love what God loves and hate what He hates. Will you still sin? Yes—we aren’t perfect until Heaven. But you’ll start to bear good fruit as He transforms your heart (Matthew 7:17-20).

This Is Too Good Not to Share!

When you’re saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-10), you won’t be able to contain this good news… and that’s why I’m sharing it with you!
